This blend I created is meant to support the over-worked, over-fatigued adrenal system.

There are compounds in some volatile oils that have a structural similarity to natural human hormones, and these promote efficient endocrine gland activity by natural means. For instance, the compounds found in Pine, Spruce and Rosemary oils are like cortisone. It is said that they stimulate the cortex of the adrenal glands or they mimic the action of cortisone in so far as they have a modulating effect on the activity of the adrenal cortex.

Black Spruce has an immediate grounding effect. It is great for centering, calming and focusing. If one can picture the full, majestic Black Spruce tree, a sense of rootedness and expansiveness occurs. Once feeling grounded, we can feel more connected to our breath, opening and expanding on many levels.

Black Spruce Essential Oil is distilled from the needles of the tree, which provide respiration for the whole tree. No wonder Black Spruce essential oil allows us to feel more connected…to the earth and to the breath. This essential oil is wonderful when working with the root (1st chakra) and heart (4th chakra). It assists us in working with our shadow side thus allowing a higher vibration to occur.

Black Spruce Essential Oil allows us to recall memories. The oil has a way of connecting us not just to the earth and breath, but to ourselves as well, reminding us of memories from days gone by. We have found that when we are connected deeply to the earth that we can then open up to our higher selves. According to Dr Kurt Schnabelt, Black Spruce is also known to strengthen and support the adrenal glands during times of stress and fatigue. This supports the fact that Black Spruce is not only calming and sedating, but uplifting as well.

Pine Pinus sylvestris: Poor circulation, fatigue, immune support, adrenal support. (Pine may have a stimulating effect on the adrenal cortex; it can be a good essential oil choice for fatigue and nervous debility. It is energizing without being overly stimulating. It is used extensively with clients who are in adrenal burnout, who have chronic fatigue syndrome or are generally overstressed.)

Cypress: Decongestive for the adrenals and lymphatic systems, warming, stimulating and uplifting. Over all balancer of fluids.

Orange, Sweet: I choose this oil as a compliment to bring the “sun” back into your life. This oil helps with insomnia, palpitations, anxiety, nervousness.
Inhalation: Put 1-3 drops of essential oil or blend on a tissue or cotton ball and inhale the aroma. Pause and inhale again. (Avoid touching your notes with the tissue.)

Bath: Mix 4-8 drops of essential oil or blend in 1 -2 cups Epsom Salt (Epsom Salt helps to draw toxins from the body), also include about 1 tsp.- 1tblsp. Of liquid castile soap and mix well. Fill the tub with warm water and immerse yourself. Add the Epsom Salt / essential oil mixture to the bath water and swirl around you. Relax in the tub for 15-20 minutes.

Massage: Mix 6-12 drops of essential oil or blend in 1 oz. of carrier i.e. all natural, unscented lotion or oil and use to massage lower back every morning and evening.
