This kit was developed to address common childhood ear aches. This will work equally as well for Adults and canines. It contains a 10ml bottle of Ear Oil (Mullein and Garlic infused oil) for application into the ear canal. A 5ml bottle of Ear Ease blend (Lavender and Tea Tree oils in jojoba) to be applied externally, around the ear mastoid area.
Mullein and garlic-infused oil can be a natural and traditional remedy for earaches and ear infections. Both mullein and garlic are known for their anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties.
How to Use:
For Earaches:
- Warm the oil to room temperature. Using a dropper, place a few drops into the affected ear while lying on your side. Keep the oil in the ear for a few minutes, then turn your head to let it drain out.
For Ear Infections:
- Consult with a healthcare professional for any suspected ear infection. If appropriate, you can apply a few drops of the infused oil as mentioned above. It's essential to seek professional advice if the symptoms persist.
Lavender and tea tree oils are known for their antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, while jojoba oil acts as a carrier oil, providing a gentle base for application. When applying any oil near the ear, it's crucial to be gentle and cautious to avoid injury.
How to Apply:
Check for Allergies:
- Before applying the blend, perform a patch test on a small area of skin to check for any adverse reactions.
Application:
- Gently dip a cotton ball or swab into the oil blend, ensuring it is fully saturated but not dripping.
Apply to the Mastoid Area:
- Apply the oil blend to the mastoid bone, which is the bony prominence behind the ear. Massage the area gently using upward strokes.
Avoid the Ear Canal:
- Do not insert anything into the ear canal. Applying oils directly into the ear canal can be risky and is not recommended unless advised by a healthcare professional.
Cover the Ear:
- Optionally, you can cover the ear with a warm compress or cotton ball to keep the area warm and aid absorption.
Repeat as Needed:
- Apply the blend 2-3 times a day or as needed for relief.
Cautions:
- Consult with a Professional: If you suspect an ear infection, it's crucial to consult with a healthcare professional for proper diagnosis and treatment.
- Allergies: Be mindful of allergies to lavender, tea tree, or any other ingredients. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.
- Avoid Ear Canal: Do not insert oils or cotton swabs into the ear canal. This can lead to injury or push wax further into the ear.
This blend is intended for external use on the skin around the ear. If you're experiencing persistent ear pain or other symptoms, seek guidance from a healthcare professional for appropriate care.
